Chocolate Daisy 1 packet of 35 seeds
Chocolate Daisies don't look like chocolate but they smell like chocolate! These cheerful native perennial wildflowers provide a continuous show of deliciously fragrant butter yellow blooms, each about the size of a quarter. Chocolate Daisies are loved by pollinators and will bloom continuously all season. Hardy to zone 4.
*Please Note* Because our seeds are harvested by hand, without the use of machines, a small amount of plant matter may be present in the seed packets.
In spring, after all danger of frost, sow in a sunny garden spot with excellent drainage. Sow 3 to 6 inches apart and cover lightly. Keep moist but not soggy while awaiting germination. When seedlings are well established, thin to 6 inches apart so plants have room to mature.
Chocolate Daisies are native to mesas and plains of the desert southwest. They thrive in average soil but require good drainage. If soil is heavy clay, amend soil with organic matter to improve drainage prior to sowing. Deadhead spent flowers regularly to encourage reblooming. Plants will die back to the ground in the winter but will return in the spring.
